For quite some time Malawan youth have lacked the coordination ands also an independent forum to organize and also share information for the development of the Malawian youth.

While the National Youth Council has been able to provide leadership and also resources for the development of the youth and Youth organization in Malawi, it (Council) has been challenged in terms of level of issues that they would advocate or even lobby for the youth of Malawi.

It has become imperative and ideal therefore that the youth become more focused and organizaed in terms of getting together and building stronger networks and forums at National level..

There has been several initiatives in Malawi for the development of such network and coalitions but often times things have not been able to move in the right direction.

Sixteen youth organizations in Malawia from atleast 13 districts in all the regions in the country have manged to establish the Forum for NGOs in Youth Development (FONYODE). The idea behind the forum is to ensure that it creates a youth voice that would complement to several initiatives for youth development in Malawia and National Youth Council.

The forum aims at becoming the voice of the Malawian youth from their own perspective and further the main job would be to advocate and lobby for the youth development issues at all sectors.

I therefore request many youth to take part in the said forum and one of the upcoming events for the forum would be the National Conference for Youth Development.
